  3. With more than 1,000 student organizations across ASU's metro campuses, Arizona State University provides opportunities for each and every student to become involved.
  4. South Mountain, located in Phoenix, is the largest municipal park in the country. Here are some travel tips.
  5. The Phoenix Zoo is one of the nation’s largest non-profit zoos. It’s home to more than 1,400 animals, including 30 species that are endangered or threatened, and it’s committed to conservation.
  6. Phoenix is home to a number of nationally acclaimed restaurants. Pizzeria Bianco is rated by many – including Bon Appétit, Vogue and Rachael Ray - as the best pizza in the country, and Barrio Café was recently named by Tabelog as the best Mexican restaurant in the USA.
  7. Big Surf Waterpark in Tempe features the third largest wave pool in the world.
  8. The Phoenix metropolitan area is a destination for major sporting events. This decade alone, the Valley of the Sun has hosted Super Bowl XLIX (2015), the College Football Playoff National Championship (2016), Copa America Centenario (2016), and the NCAA Final Four (2017).
